Onward2Success: A Community Scholarship Fund

2018: Thanks to those who helped to expand our assistance to deserving students.

*Scholarship Availability:  Please  read  very  carefully.  We award scholarships of "up to $500" to assist with tuition and/or the costs of books and fees. As funds are available, awards are made at the discretion of the O2S board based on the six application requirements below.  Please Note: Our next scholarship offering will be for the fall 2018 school term.  We will begin accepting and reviewing applications on June 1, 2018.  Recipients are selected according to (a) financial need, (b) college readiness, and (c) first-come, first-served. Start  your  application  early. IMPORTANT: Our policy is "first-come, first served." We set aside funds for qualified students whose applications are complete in the order these are received. As the deadline approaches, funds may become depleted. There is no guarantee that every student will receive a scholarship.
*Application Requirements:  Click Here to download and save a Microsoft Word application form.

(If there's a problem, close other Word doc's. If using Google Chrome, check for a little tag in the lower-left corner of your screen.)

  1. As of 2017, you must enroll in a Utah-based college / university, or an affiliated campus. A student I.D. number is required.
  2. You must participate in one of the "College Preparation" activities: option A, B, or C. See details to the right...
  3. You will be required to provide us with a "Letter of Recommendation." See application form for details.
  4. We ask that you affirm your educational goals in writing via a "Statement of Commitment."
  5. You will also need to provide your GPA for the school term most recently completed.
  6. We invite you to identify an informal education/career mentor to encourage and support you.

*Important Footnote: Please do not apply until you are certain you will be attending college. It is essential that you check the accuracy of all your information, including your email address. We will communicate with you by email.

*Scholarship Renewal:  Our policy is as follows...  "Our primary goal is to give new students a financial boost. Once you receive an O2S scholarship, you are welcome to reapply for one (1) renewal. Based on the availability of funds for a particular school term, we allocate these funds for new students first and foremost and, if possible, some funds are allocated for returning students. Your renewal application will be considered along with those of all other applicants. There is no guarantee that you will receive an award. Returning students may become eligible for one scholarship renewal only (for a total of two O2S scholarships). To reapply, you need to complete a new application. In addition, please provide your current GPA, a transcript of classes completed, and an update of your 'Statement of Commitment.' You do not need to attend the 'College Preparation' workshop again or provide another 'Letter of Recommendation.' If you have any questions, please contact us at 801-253-0895."

*Important Footnotes:  (A) Scholarship awards are always dependent on the availability of funds for any particular school term. (B) If funds become limited, there will be just one scholarship award per family or household. (C) All funds will be disbursed directly to the educational institutions and not to individual students. (D) The O2S fund does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, or any other prohibited traits.
